TDS calibration fluid

Can distilled water be used to check tds meters? I would assume that distilled water is 0.

depends on what brand....tested three different ones and got anywhere from 0 up to about 20 ppm. may be the bottling equipment they use that puts some contaminates back in once it is distilled.
