Thinking of going BB on my 8 gallon Bio-Cube

Kevin McG

Ni Hao!
Anybody else running bare bottom on there nano's? I've always wanted a babe bottom tank, the sand is getting "ugly" to me.

thoughts, suggestions recommendations....

Bb

I do and love it. My 37G cube has been up for a little over two years and I think the only downside is I can't have some fish who need sand to sleep. I think the lps I keep on the bottom like not having sand in their mouths. Another plus, it was very easy to move back to NY.

btw - for those who always come back with BB does not look 'natural', check out Saba off St. Maartin - some of the best diving I have ever done - they have no sand.

I will repost this pic and try to get a better one.

I just think it is a cleaner look and removing the sand from a 8 gallon nano is a lot easier than trying it on a larger system.

If you want to give it a try start siphoning it out when you go water changes. Since it is only an 8 gallon it wouldn't be to hard or expensive to replace the sand if you decided you don't like the bare bottom.
