Washing live sand?

How does one wash live sand or rinse it before putting it in the tank? Is there an easy (or easier) way to do this? Thanks for the help.

Any suggestions for a good canister filter for a 90g RR tank?

If the tank is Reef Ready, you wont need a canister filter. You should use a sump for that tank.

Rinsing sand is easy. Put it in a bucket and jam a hose down the middle. Rinse with tap, then rinse again with RO/DI. It'll still be a little cloudy, but that won't last too long.

If it is Live sand, don't wash it, just put it in the tank. Washing it will kill the beneficial bacteria and organisms that make it "Live."
