Zoa's closing and disappearing

Hi

I know this has been asked many times.
Is there any definitive answer as to why zoas closed and disappear?

There is No snow like appearance. I have lost 1 complete disk with 30+ zoas, now I noticed I have others that are showing closed, and another that is missing many from its disk.

Anyone???????

Hi Barry, you might have an infection of zoa pox. Or you have zoas eatting snials.

Too much direct flow? Sometimes it isn't an issue, sometimes it is.

How fast are you losing polyps? Do they close then disappear?

lost 1 colony 30+ in less than 30 days, now I have anothe disk missing 50% and OI noticed that some of the zoas are hang on by a thread

I have a Purple tang and a foxface, 1 skunk clown, 1 firefish, 1 blenny,
and a large Sallie lightfoot,

Have you looked for sundail snails? I'd pull out the frgas an examine them with a magnifying glass.
