I have the 5000 and 9000.
I think we're going to do the 5000 to start.

I changed my mind.
I think we'll do the 9000 tonight.

I also need to figure out how to attach the 9000's output nozzle to the intake elbow of the skimmer. Need some bushings or something.

Well I did my 9000. No Problems very easy. I get alot of froathy foam at the top. Alot like a head of bear on a guiness. Neo and the basement drinking gang would know. lol. Anyway I actually have a hard time tuning it down with the valve gate mod.

Hey Carlo, make sure your skimmer is submerged between 6 to 8" of water and if still no results you can always make the skimmer drain short.

Hopefully it will help.

It is deep enough but what do you mean about making the return shorter? I am using the valve mode. There is pretty much no extra PVC from the valve and T. Your not talking about the part that loops and drops in water are you?

OK this looks pretty easy. I guess that I missed getting some mat from the meeting in Andover. shucks - I was wondering what that was for! ** I need some mat for a 9000 **. Sounds like a few other reefers in the "brentwood" area are interested also. I will organize a new thread to get the mat from whomever may have some (??) and distribute it around this area. I have to leave this weekend so I'll start something up next week. Sounds like a party to me! great way to make the winter go by faster.
