RODI set-up

I finally got around to setting up my RODI unit. I've been working on it for the last two days and I'm nearly complete. All I have left is to install some more cable covers down the wall and to install a spigot at the bottom of the barrel. I did a test run earlier today and let it run at about 55 psi for one hour and then opened the flush valve for an additional 30 minutes. Everything seems to be in working order with no leaks. The TDS meter says the the water input into the DI chambers is at about 10 ppm and 0 ppm upon exit. The water supply comes from under my bathroom sink in the next room over from where the storage container is kept. Here some photos as the build progressed.

Looking good. Did you cut the entire top of the barrel off or just make a door/flap?

Just a hole big enough to get a circulating pump in and to install the float valve.
 
Is it normal for the TDS to be at 006ppm after exiting the RO unit? It's at 000ppm after the DI unit though. Another thing that seems weird to me is when I tested the phosphate of the freshly made RODI water it read 002ppm. Is this normal?
 
I havent been brave enough to cut my 55 gallon drum yet. Still in the planning stages of my RO/DI setup
 
.006 before the DI resin is normal. I like your installation. Id suggest adding another drum right beside it to house salt water (water change water) when you want to change water you just siphon the DI tank into the change tank, remove the tube, add salt, stir, and then pump that water into the main tank (after draining some out of course!). Makes water changes easy, up to like 40g at a time.

Last thing I need to do is install a pressure regulator due to the insane water pressure in my house but other than that quick fix I'm all done. Here are a few pictures.
