Unbelievable tank.Never tried it with a full spectrum fixture. I might take your challenge on that if I go Radion Pro.
However, I bought this 72" Giesmann Spectra years and years ago before the Elos 160XL thinking that I was going to get a 6' tank that I'm dying to use. I'll be running the legendary Radium metal halide. If I don't like it, I will swap out the internal components and mount the LED in the fixture. I just got to experience the Radium.
Anyway, I got bored of the tank and how everything is growing and coloring so I decided to spice it up a little. Got angels in the tank and now my SPS are bald(No polyps extension) due to nipping. Now it's fun to decide if they're worth the bald SPS for them and how I should master mind a fish catching technique. I love this hobby.
Just look at all the fish. How exciting!
Yes, that's a pair of masked swallow tail angel. And a pintail fairy wrasse at the end.

Very nice tank Nick !! The corals looks great in the tank you have. I imaging that in the new one they will look also fantastic.
The new tank will go in the same spot ? If Yes, how do you plan to do the transfer ?
Cheers
Daniel
Is that a scratch?
I'm interested to see how you like the tank and the build. I was more than pleased with mine and the starphire glas held up awesome.
Man, I feel like no one ever read the post!
All the answers you're looking for is in the post above. It's not like I was writing a book. I tried to short everything and you still don't read it.![]()
Congrats, nice layout on the tankNow the reason for the thread title change.
Miracle has informed me that my new 360gallons tank is ready to shipped and they sent some pictures. I just have to tell them when.
The new tank has a dimension of 72"x48"x24". Peninsula style as I would have to have access to all side of the tank due to the 48" width. I know this is not as fancy as the Elos. It has Euro brace at the top and braced at the bottom. But at this kind of size, I don't care about the clean look much. I just want a solid tank without worrying about water on the floor. The tank stand cabinet will hide the bracing at the bottom anyway. Planning on a canopy at the top but will see how it goes.
The external overflow box is 38" wide! lots of surface water(where most of the oil and crap) will be drained into the sump to skim. It has been awhile that I've set something like this on my own. But it was how I started this hobby. Since going to AIO system like Elos, I haven't been able to be creative on my system set up.
With this much water, the tank is going to be in the basement with its own fish room. I'm not expected this project to go as smoothly and quickly as the 160XL. Moving the livestock alone will be an all day ordeal. But I plan on running two tanks for as long as I need until I'm comfortable with the livestock transfer into the new tank.
Pics of tank from Miracle. I will list the equipment once the tank is in the house. Because of the differences of size and volume, most of the equipment I'm running now will have to be upgraded also.
