Carlo I really like my skimmer. It never bit**es at me when i get home and it is always cleaning. Wish i could teach it to cook.

I'll also be doing the recirc mod along with feeding it from the overflow.

I love the skimmer as well. I almost hate to touch it but I couldnt imagine what it would do if it worked 50% better which I have read it should do. Is the recirc mod the same as the gate valve on the over flow? I ordered the Overflow kit from ASM, I got lazy didnt want to search for parts.... If not what will the recirc do?

Carlo, the recirculating mod adds another pump to the skimmer body that recirculates the water in the skimmer. Basically it adds more air to the skimmer body without the addition of water.

Joe it does not necessarily add an additional pump although you could. I want to do the recirc mod with my existing pump and feed from the overflow from my tank.

Gustavo says that adding a pump to the G4 does not really give you the benefit you might expect. He says the mesh mod and the recirc mod will give you all the skimmer can handle.
Adding the pump will not give you any gain above what the mods will give.

My skimmer is pulling more after the mesh mod. Usually I empty the collection cup every week or so and I have had to after 2 1/2 days

Well now that i think I know what goes on in the Gustavo basement I doubt it.
