Clownfish eating coral

My juvenile ocellaris clown will not leave my candy cane coral alone. At first I assumed that it was starting to host it by sucking on it but I watched closely and noticed that it was ripping off flesh. I feed the tank twice a week because its only a ten gallon. To test whether or not this was why the clownfish was ripping the coral I fed him and he continued. Has this happened to anyone else?

Wow twice a week... they must starve to the point they are eating corals... I feed twice a day. I don't think size of tank matters how much you feed... each fish needs a happy belly. Twice a week... your gonna have anorexia looking fish.

i feed flakes once a day on an auto-feeder, and then i feed frozen a few times per week as i remember before the lights shut off.

Sometimes it starts with a fish being hungry and trying something, and then it can acquire a taste for that coral.

Also all fish are individuals. I have a royal gramma who eats shrimp (large peppermints).
