Diatomaceous Earth?

Has anyone ever considered soaking an appropriately-sized polishing pad in it ring it out fairly liberally and then use it to further polish the water?

I was thinking of doing it with my setup as a pre polishing pad

I use it in my diatom filter. Nothing compares.

What do you think about soaking in generic custom cut polishing fiber cloth pad rinse fairly liberally and then using it as a final polishing pad between a regular polishing pad and a carbon pad ?

Wouldn't it clog pretty quick?

It would, If I use it very spearingly I figure the residue would make it down from the "#1 D.E pad" to the "#2 polishing pad" to the "#3 carbon pad"? Fishfood for thought? Steve.

Diatomaceous earth can make a real mess if your not careful. It is very fine.

Like Talcum powder in a rock tumbler fine, trust me in know, i used to be in charge of my parents swing pool when I was 11 or 12.
