For those that don't know, we take all the ingredients and blend them all up in a food processor. Those that contributed get to take home a bag of goodness for their fish and get to watch me do a quality control test by tasting the batch.
Members are welcomed to join in the tasting ;)

Some ingredients are harder to find or aren't commonly used, so feel free to put your name down for items that we have plenty of or are already covered.

Are any type of shrimp and scallops okay? My local market (Hannaford) has some of the best shrimp and scallops i've ever had.
How much of each would be needed? I could bring both depending on how much is needed. If it's a lot I could definitely bring atleast one of the two.

I prefer my shrimp scampi, my scollops fried and squid fried or stuffed.:)

Oh, your talking about the fish goo.:D

I wonder if my royal gramma basslet likes scampi sauce? Hmm... Lol.

I don't eat seafood of any form, so i'd offer to make some food and use the rest for fish goo, but if I don't eat it, I don't cook it. Lol.

Any shrimp or scallop will work and feel free to bring as much as you'd like. Usually a pound or two will suffice but it definitely helps when we have more people :)

Here's an updated list. C'mon folks, we need a few more people to make this happen :)

Yes it can. Actually, it specifically has to be frozen else it will rot. What I plan to do is buy an ice cube tray that makes small icecubes and pour the goo into there and freeze them into cubes.
There's silicone molds and various things cube shaped or generally small enough to put them in to freeze. Think Dentyne Ice packs, bottle caps, large tubing, etc.

You can also get Push Pop containers, cleaned out very well, and put a bit in them and freeze and push out what you want when you want it and slice at the line.

I'm sure other members on here can come up with some more elaborate ideas as well.

Kinda makes you wish you saved all your old empty trays from frozen fish food huh? Lol.

EDIT: GREAT IDEA!!! Take your frozen food tray, pop out all the cubes from it into a quality ziplock, put some goo in it, freeze, and repeat until you have a ziplock of cubes.
That's likely what i'll be doing depending on how well the goo freezes.

I'll bring the filter feeder food... The carrots and broccoli worked good the fish loved it. If you want ill bring that too

Sounds good. Yeah, it's a little weird seeing a clownfish run off with a piece of broccoli or carrot in its mouth but they eat it :)

I had a betta fish years ago that'd FREAK OUT everytime I gave him a steamed pea to eat and he lived for well over a year which is somewhat uncommon so I too will definitely give carrots and broccoli a try lmao.

Frank if you bring the scallops I can try and bring squid instead along with the shrimp.
Theres a bait shop down the street from me. Would make for a more diverse food blend.
Lmk.

1 pound of each maybe?

Alright, looks like things are starting to shape up.

I did some shopping this afternoon and decided to pick up some more stuff for the goo :)

Still plenty of time for others to join

Ill bring muscles it's my first BRS meeting!

Thanks a bunch and make sure so come introduce yourself. Also, please make sure the mussels are out of the shell. Kind of tough to blend up shells ;)

Terrific! and a pound of each would definitely suffice :). Just make sure the squid are cleaned (no beaks, cartilage, and ink sac removed). I made a mess one time when an ink sac was left in by accident
