Flame Hawkfish Behavioral Change

My 4-year old Flame Hawkfish's behavior changed from being highly active doing laps around the tank and perching to hiding under live rock and in caves. His belly got pale, less red than normal and his appetite was mush lesser than usual though he was still eating mysis, brine and flakes. Sadly he has departed to the great ocean in the sky.

Now my 1.5-year old son keeps looking around in the tank asking "Hawkey?" and its breaking my heart.

I had a similar change in my hawkfish. Decreased activity and apatite. Took two days before he was found being devoured. I got a younger one since then. Miss "Big Red/Hawkeye". Now we have a little red. The circle of life

I might have to get a Hawkey Jr.
My son was watching me do some tank maintenance yesterday and he kept asking "Hawkey?"
I told him he's swiming in the great ocean in the sky, but being 16 months old that was only followed with a demanding "Hawkey! Hawkey! Hawkey?"
