How long should I keep T5 HO 4x54W light on per day?H

How long should I keep T5 HO 4x54W light on per day? Please help.

What do you have in the tank for corals etc....
Some corals require higher light.

I normally keep my lights on for about 7 hrs a day for the metal halides and the t5 actinics on for an hr before and after.

I only have live sand and fish. Should I kept light on for 5hrs in the morning and 5hrs at night or live it on for 8 hrs straight?

I run my 420 & 460nm actinics for 10 hours and 10,000k and 12,000k daylights for 8 hours. Was battling cyano and some algae so got off the 12 hour cycle and never went back.
