I thought something might have been wrong

For the last week, iv noticed some die off in some of my zoanthids colonies... Dang it! My heater was dead, Now the temp is 73.5F. how slowly should I bring it up to 81.2( what I normally keep it), I dont want to kill any of my fish

81.2? I try to keep mine btwn 78-80.
Other than that, sorry - don't know the best way to raise the temp, other than 'slowly'.

i think if you just add a new heater it will gradually raise it at a slow pace.

lol, you should check the temperature everytime you get out of bed.
Just stick another heater and set it to 76 then to 78 then to 80. That way it'll go up slow.

lol, i know, normally I check the digital thermometer every day. Iv been slacking off. wont happen again

I'm of the school of cooler temps in the 76-78 range. My corals and zoas seem to do better when it's not too warm. I live in a WARM building so I haven't even plugged in a heater since las Feb. Tank is at 79.6 right now room temperature.
