Kalk reactors

Is anyone using a kalk reactor,and if so what brand or does anyone have a good diy reactor?How's the maintenance on these?pump versus stirrer?
How often do you have to change the media?

I made a DIY reactor. It was very very simple. It's a powerhead stirred type. I'll post pictures later.

here ya go. Sorry it's a bit fuzzy. RODI gravity fed in through the long white tube on the right. Larger diameter tube in the middle is on the powerhead output. The minijet powerhead is on a digital timer to run for 1 minute a couple times a day. Kalk output to a float valve in the sump is through the JG fitting in the center of the lid. It's tapped into the lid, but not connected to any tube inside, so it draws from the top of the reactor.

This was a really quick build. Approximately an evening.

Not yet. That should be available in a few more days. When it's running.

But squint, and picture about 4 inches of white sludge at the bottom of the tube, and a clear whitish liquid filling the rest.
