Or any threads about how to do this?I have a massive devil's hand that needs to be sliced up.I'm thinking this weekend will work.I understand about cutting off the fingers, that doesn't scare me.
But it's this huge center section that has me puzzled. What do I do,section it like a pizza? What about that center group of fingers?Any help will be appreciated. Here's a picture of the victim.
I'd like to make this into 3-4 sections.TIA......:)

How about you just hack into it where you want it to be cut? Cut down along the fingers and into the base.

From what I understand, you can't kill those things (well - *YOU* couldn't... I'm sure *I* could )

That's what I'm thinking.
I have a carpet knife all ready with a new blade.
I thought about the weedwacker,but that's stored for winter.:p

Just cut it. I use scissors.

Cool,maybe I could use the wive's poultry shears.:p
Do I just go right through the base? How about that center stand of fingers?
This things big enough to catch a Wakefield knuckle ball.

I have fragged both a toadstool and a tree and both times i didnt touch the base. Just fragged a part with polyps and attached with a toothpick. They grew new bases within 3 weeks.

Our own Greg Hiller did a couple of great articles about fragging corals... Here's one on tree corals (pretty much the same on all softies IMO) http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-09/fotm/index.php

Here's a link that has a bunch that he did

The techniques described in this article work for devils hand and other leathers:

Thanks guys.
That's exactly what I was looking for.:)
