How long do you have to wait till you can turn on the pumps in the tank, do you have to wait till it's totally clear before you do that or is it cool to turn every thing on. thanks:cool:

I had mine running right from the start, keep your pumps high if you can so they dont stir the sand to much...

did you have your protein skimmer up and running to or did you wait for the tank to cycle, and do you think if I add some marine clarifier that would help clear things up a bit.
thanks again.

I'd be running the pumps and the skimmer.
FWIW When I fill a tank I place a trash bag over the sand. I put a plate on top and fill the tank. As long as you wash the sand first you get little or cloudiness.
I also skip the clarifier

no need for the skimmer right now... don't add that clarifier to your tank, it will clear up on it's own... ;)

Please skip the clarifier. Turn on the pumps and let things work themselves out. The sand will settle long before the tank is ready to add livestock.

the skimmer will help remove some of the fine sand in the water column causing the cloudy water
