Night of the Living Monti Cap!

My Monti cap has been dead since a dramatic summer heatwave.
I refused to remove its dead carcass, since it serves as a great shelf piece for other coral anyway.

But look! ITS ALIIIIIIVEEEEE!!!!

I have some orange cap that encrusted to the bottom glass in a frag tank that's connected to the main. It's about an inch in diameter. So far it's survived 2 fresh water cleanings. Scrubbing with a green scrubby and a month with the frag tank light off. I'm pretty sure it would survive in the back of my toilet

I am going through a similar experience with a green cap. Last February I lost many sps. Among those all my green caps. As you, I left it there because they were part of the rock and I was really lazy to take them out. Depressed by all my coral lost. Suddenly, a couple of months ago, during the summer, some green spots appeared in the border. To my surprise, those tiny spots are now growing!!!!! .

Good that I left it there.

Cheers
