Oxolinic Acid

[Syntax]

I’ve read Mike Paletta’s tissue necrosis article with interest because I believe I am dealing with the same issue.

I don’t have access to Cipro; however, oxolinic acid is supposed to be a viable substitute, but I can’t find any dosing information. Anyone have experience with this?

This may not help but I was able to get 500 mg cipro online from Allivet, Aqua-Cipro.

You can use the same dosage for both OA and Cipro.
Cipro is just a more potent (slightly) next generation of OA.

[Syntax]

I treated my tank and didn’t see a benefit. Luckily, Dong was nice enough to assess a few pictures that I sent him and helped to get things straightened out. My tank is recovering and acros are now encrusting and things look good. Now, algae eradication is the next challenge.
