Places to buy tanks

Where are some good places to buy tanks from? Ones that will do custom drilling and overflows but have reasonable prices. I am trying to plot out my next system.

Don't get rid of your tank! Of course if you're going to keep the one you have and get another one rock on!

No way I love my tank. That's the problem I'm hooked. I would like to start drawing up a larger system. I know the space I am dealing with and I want to get something on the drawing board so I can start budgeting for the next year.
I really would like to take my time and design something I can be proud of.
Also if anybody has any opinions or better yet experience with glasscages I would like to hear them.

I love my glasscages tank. Custom build 150 with low iron glass front, center overflow, two return holes and euro braced. Built like a tank (weighs as much as a tank too!). The silicone is a bit sloppy, but that is easily trimmed. Besides, if people are looking at the silicone when you show them your reef tank, then you've got a problem! :D

Good to know. If I have to tidy up the silicon NBD as long as it is overall well constructed. I really do like hearing first hand experience - thanks

I don't have one, but the general feedback on glass cages that I have heard is that they make solid tanks, but sometimes can be a bit sloppy with the silicone, and some other details, but their prices are good. Here's the vendor experience threads on them that I found;

This place sells complete kits for drilling and installing your own overflows. I hear good things about them as well.

Also, last I heard you can order custom sizes and overflows through AGA/aquagon, but you have to do it through a dealer (basically any sponsor LFS). IIRC they can be pretty expensive for custom tanks, but just adding an overflow in a stock size tank may not be too bad. Check with a LFS on this (I'd suggest CRA and or skiptons to talk to).

Last, custom DIY set ups are possible. I've done them for others in the past, but I'm kind of booked up at the moment. This thread might inspire some ideas if your handy;

Give Derek at Miracles a call. You can e-mail or give him a call via contact info on his site.

Sorry, I'm having difficulties posting urls on my cell. :( It's miraclesaquariums.com

Tell him Paul from Boston sent ya. :)

You are going to BUDGET this? What kind of American are you?

On with a wife and 2 girls - they are a drain on the reefkeeping:D

Awesome info - will probably be a while. I just want to plan so I can yes "budget" and buy pieces one at a time instead one big chunck.

i would just get a used tank. and if its drilled already great. if its not drill it your self or ask some one on here to drill it for you.

I checked out the DIY thread. Nice work jimmyj7090. I love the placement and double fold overflow on the 40's.

Yeah actually I would have gotten a used tank. I'd recommend that route if you can. Only reason I didn't was the fact that I HAD to do a 5 foot and 150's are kind of hard to come by.
