I am just getting this 75 gallon soft coral tank going with the 8 x 65 watt PC configuration. These are straight pin 10,000k 65's, 4 actinic and 4 regular. I am at the point where I am going to get some replacement bulbs and have a few questions.
Given a mostly soft coral and a few LPS coral tank, would I be better off with a different spectrum PC bulb, or maybe a variety?
I am assuming all straight pin 65 watt PCs are created equal but if this is a poor assumption, I would like to know which brands are the better overall value?
Finally, one of the fans was making so much noise that I shut it down. My thought was that these bulbs are not really hot enough for this to be a big problem, but again, if this is a poor assumption, let me know.
