skimmer build questions

i found a few designs that i like and may attempt to build a hybrid that imitates a commercial skimmer.. the question i have that concerns me the most is how to make an effective venturi.....

as my understanding goes the air should be on the intake side of the pump so that the wheel will chop up the air bubbles and encourage more contact time.

any good links or ideas on how to make this the most effective?

Yup! this one. http://randystacye.com/diy_venturi.htm I have done the step drill one at the bottom of the page...used a 5/8 barbed pvc tee that has a smaller 3/8 barb...worked great.Still have it (I think) if you interested lmk and I'll give it to you.

i found that page the next day !!! too funny... thank you for the kind offer but i am about 2.75 hours away form you and not planning a trip out to that end of the state just now. still looking at plans and making small concept adjustments as i go along. i am really liking that step drilled one of all of them ...
