Sometimes little things work well

I needed to drain my sump to change things around to decrease the pump's head pressure.

The SEN pump was just sitting there, after a test of the protein skimmer. I found the output spout of the SEN fit neatly into a 1" PVC pipe.
So I quickly set up piping to take the ~75 gal of water from the sump to the sink in the basement. The distance was about 15 feet.
I had 3 lengths of pipe, about 6' each, and some 45 degree elbows.
I pushed everthing together, and expected a big sparying mess when I plugged in the pump.
To my surprise, it worked like a charm.

Sometimes, things go very right. :D

Sometimes.....

It does take a lot of head pressure to seperate an unglued pvc joint. It's easier for the water to just go threw. I used this method a few times.

Things went right again tonight!

Pulled out my ol' MAG pump, and found a hose that fit the output nozzle.
Dropped that into the tank and the hose into the overflow.
Pumped the 125 into the sump in about 10 minutes.
Then fired up the SEN/PVC system, and emptied the sump in about 10 minutes. No mess, no leaks, no puddled nor spraying. I like it.

Amazing how fast the system empties, compared to how long it takes to fill with RO/DI.

Got most of the replumbing done of the returns. Added a couple of unions. I want to try and save the bulkheads if I need to make changes in the future.

Need to get a few blocks to elevate the sump a foot or so.

These changes should chop off 5 feet or more of head pressure.
