What do you use to lower phosphates

Have high phosphate and wondering what people use without buying new equipment

There's a couple of things you can do if you have a filter. You can buy either a phosphte sponge or phosphate pad and throw it in a filter for a couple of days. You'll have to remove it after 48 hours or it will leach phosphates back into the water. There's also water changes :) Do you know why you have high phosphates? Overfeeding?
 
BRS GFO helps keep my phosphates down. Since I change out the carbon and GFO weekly, I just use the regular stuff, not the ROX8.
 
If you are overfeeding, one thing you could do would be to not overfeed.

How old are the filters on your RO/DI? If they are over 6-9 months, you should check the TDS.
