So I’m looking to buy a new Frag tank and I keep going back and fourth on what height to go with. If you guys could vote in the poll and give me a reason why it would be great.

I have an eight inch and its to shallow!! By the time you remove the top margin and any sand if used your down to five inches or so and taller corals are sticking out of the water. At times I've wanted to use it to isolate new fish for a month or so but its just not deep enough for all but smaller fish.

12-16 inches. Depending if you want to go with fish in the system or not or multi-tiered 12” for no fish, 16 for fish.

I’d say 16” and raise the rack a bit so you can have some cuc in there cough cough tang

Lol. I have a 24x24x12 frag tank and I love the height. Easy to provide light for the corals and deep enough that I can provide a good amount of flow without it splashing out or anything.

I will say 12 inch for SPS.
8 inch is good for zoas.

I have a six line wrasse in my frag tank he's been there for a couple months and he is still chilling. Probably a matter of time though...

I have a coral box QP-9 for a pump ripping an awesome wave effect...

Well 16” 60 gallon just went up from Roberto just now!

I’d go with a 16” or even higher. (I went with a standard 75g. For 4 reasons.

1. It lets you put lower light corals lower and high lights up top.

2. You can acclimate fresh cut corals in the lower depths then move them up.

3. You can make hangers on the rack that hang over some of the rack below to create more surface area = more frags you can keep.

4. It’s usually a cheaper option.

Not sure if it’s the best approach, but it’s working pretty well for me.
