Cold cathode tubes for moonlights

Over at RC some people are using these for moonlights. Anybody ever here of this? or better yet is anybody doing it??

I'm using them....

I cut pieces of white 3/4" PVC in half and glued them on to use as reflectors....seems to work decently...

I tried them, but my tank is 24" deep and they don't penetrate very far. At least the ones I had didn't. I bought ones that are used by computer gamers to jazz up their PC chassy. However you spell chassy...

I don't know if they are the same spectrum as real moonlites, but if your just looking for something that looks nice at night id deffinitly consider these

Go to best buy or circuitcity they have all sorts.I saw a good selection at car part stores as well.
