I recently posted a thread about powerheads and every response I got was regarding the EcoTech Marine MP10 or MP40 Vortech pumps so I checked them out online. EXPENSIVE! But most things good are.

I was wondering..for a 72 Bowfront would I need 2 MP10's (Flow: 200 to 1575 gph) or 1 MP40.

Would one of these be able to send flow throughout an entire tank?

If money allows I would say a MP-40, I run 2 MP-10's on my 75 and just added a modded maxi jet. wish I would of went with the 40 you can always run it @ a lower settting.

vortechs are amazing......but there are lots of amazing tanks using just koralias.

maybe get 1 mp10, and use cheaper pumps for more flow. best of both worlds?

If money is tight as mentioned you can do it with out a vortech. I think two mp40's would be best or one mp40 and a few korillias. I found the more flow you have the better the outcome for coral and fish. Again as mentioned you can do it with other powerheads it's just that most that have used a vortech like them and the way they can push a lot of water.
