Thank You to those who attended the meeting and entered into the contest .

As stated before, members who signed up for the contest, must have been present at the meeting to pick up your free contest frag.

Here are the rules that were listed from the Sign Up Thread.

- All participants must be paid members before receiving your coral
- Growout coral must be picked up in person at the April meeting
- Post your setup, your tank maintenance and treatment of incoming corals
- Take a photo of the frag within 2 weeks of acquiring it, regardless of treatment administered and condition of the tank (No Photoshop)
- Make sure to measure your frag with the ruler provided
- Continue to monitor you system with bi-weekly or monthly photos of the coral and status updates and changes made to your system.
- At the end of the allotted time frame, we will judge the best grow out and declare a winner. The time frame will be 5 months, which will be around the September 2016 meeting.
- Since the frags may vary in size, the winner will be chosen by the percentage new growth
- Prize is $50 GC to the sponsor of your choice.
- Lastly, Have Fun!

Guess I will go first.

Here is my frag, standing at 3/4" from the plug to its highest point.

Acclimated the frag by floating it in its bag for about a half hour and then plopped it in my frag rack on the back of my display tank. It sat in a cooler for close to 2 hours after picking it up.

My tank is pretty simple. It's a 90 gallon with a 4 bulb T5. I run a 9w UV Sterilzer and a GFO/GAC mix tee'd off of a DC2000 pump. I have also recently begun overnight nano bubble scrubbing. Have yet to prove its success.

Here's mine.

Growout frag 4_23_16.jpg

It's going to stay in my 65g frag tank with a water volume of roughly 150 gallons. Lighting is a 4 bulb Tek T5 with 3 Reefbrite LED supplements. Two gallon water changes are done automatically every day with a 10% water change every two weeks when I change my carbon. No dipping since it came from my system otherwise a Bayer dip is done for other corals.

The frag is a tad bigger than 3/4" from the tip of the epoxy. It's getting about 300 par where it's sitting.

No growth that i see but starting to get some color in the tips

No worries Bob, I am in the same boat. Over April vacation mine fell off and died. Looks like I am out.

Bumping this thread for those still in the contest. Looks like I forgot to post my May update so I guess I'm out.:(

Here's my frag anyways. Not too much vertical but it has encrusted the base and starting to get on the plug.

I missed the contest, but here's a pic of my frag anyway. It's my first addition since I upgraded tanks so I'm excited :)
