Painting base rock purple

I am just wondering if anyone has painted base rock with purple paint? I have a lot of dried rock that I'd like to paint purple. I know you can buy it already painted but I am a DIY type of person and I want to try and save some$ while I already have the rock.

Have you tried seeing with coralline algae from an established reef? It won't be as fast as paint but it wont be paint!

Well this is for a different project, I will be using this rock in freshwater which will never grow coralline. I am building a nano-tank reef look alike but with freshwater fish only.

I glued my rocks with super glue and then “painted” them with this cement. It gave a very natural look. It's just you prepare it more watery

I just wanted to post an update in case anyone is thinking of doing this. I ordered the paint from Addictive Reef Keeping. It arrived in about 4 days and I just painted my dry rock here are some pics before and after. I haven't yet put them in water but that will be sometime this week and I will post an update for anyone who may care to know how this experiment turns out.
