Who uses an auto feeder?

I have an Eheim auto feeder. Bought it for when I go on vacations, but was thinking of using it to feed a little bit throughout each day. Does the food go "stale" if I were to use in continuously? How often should the flake/pellet be replaced?

I use a neptune auto feeder with Hikari Marine-S. The pellets have been in there for probably two months because I have it on the lowest output. I don't see any ill effects of it sitting in there, my three small fish immediately hammer it when it hits the water.

I have been using an Eheim autofeeder for about a year non-stop. That is the only way I feed (plus fresh greens for rabbitfish). The fish get 3 generous feedings/day. I replenish the food in the feeder about 1/month. Once in a while some water gets splashed into it by one of the fish, and the food gets all stuck together, but that is the only problem I have had. I don't know if the food changes in quality over time though - it looks the same and never grows mold.
