We call it "reef spying" in our house - it's when you sneak up to the tank when the moonlights are on and then use a flashlight. Well - a real flashlight freaks critters out - but this Doctor Who BLUE LED doesn't freak anyone in the tank. It's perfect for spying on critters at night - also you can use it to point up at the top of the water and make cool patterns in the back.

Most critters can see the blue wavelength and will react somewhat but.....not with the red.
