How does the whole Calc, Alk, Mag thing work?

For the last couple of months I have been adding all three. I remember someone saying how they affect each other. Does anyone have a link explaining the connection they have to each other?

Maybe I should be more careful for what I ask for. Im alittle lost. OK alot lost

It's a lot easier to keep calcium in the proper range when magnesium is in check. If mag is low you'll be adding a lot more calcium to keep it in check... That's a pretty dumbed down explanation
