:( After years of adding peppermint shrimp to my tank hoping they will eat the Aiptasia,, I have finally confirmed why they all rapidly dissapear. Sunday I purchased 8 fair sized shrimp and put them into the tank. As expected my 6 line wrasse showed qwuite a bit of interest (I have always thought that he may be the culprit). Finnaly all the shrimp found a place to hide. Feeling a little more conforted I decided to leave the tank unsupervised. After about 30min, I noticed a flurry of fish activity in a corner of the tank and the suspect was caught in the act. My beloved, docile, droopy puppy eyed Cardinal Pajama fish PJ was swimming around with with one of my new shrimp in its mouth. Needless to say, I couldn't see any left the next day and PJ did not appear hungry. So for all of you reefers out there struggling with aiptasia control, peppermint shrimp probably wont work for you if you have one of these fish in you tank.
