I have been running a Evolution 500 skimmer with a "manufacturer recommended" Mag 9.5 pump. Skimming is decent, but I have a strong feeling that it could be better. The bottom of my skimmer's body is definitely not completely filled with fine bubbles as the photograph on the ETSS website looks like. I have also seen after skimmers with the bodies completely filled with milky looking water, top to bottom.
Is the Mag 9.5 truly sufficient for this downdraft skimmer? I would appreciate hearing from people familiar with it.
